A poultry food additive for combating uraemia and respiratory diseases comprises from 65 to 99.6% by weight of an alkali metal carbonate, bicarbonate or hydroxide, from 0.35 to 30% by weight of a potassium salt, e.g. K 2 SO 4 , KMnO 4 or K(coo) 2 , and from 0.05 to 5% by weight of a compound of the general formula:- wherein R is H, Me or Et and R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are each selected from H, C 1-4 alkyl, hydroxy-C 1-4 -alkyl and halo-C 1-4 -alkyl. |
