The present invention relates to a method for providing digital content which is technically protected by a content providing terminal, and includes the steps of: (a) providing, by the content providing terminal, information about digital content wherein public key information for a digital content provider to receive digital currency or pointing information about the same is embedded; and (b) supporting, by the content providing terminal, a process to release technical protection in order to play the digital content by a user terminal, when the user terminal receiving the digital content generates payment information by using a public key and a secret key of the user terminal and determines whether the payment information is authentic. Accordingly, by making it possible to play, on a player, digital content with information about digital currency such as bitcoin or the like inserted into a header of the digital content to be distributed, the use of digital currency such as bitcoin or the like may be promoted.
