The sagittal scans formed in each mode are analysed to determine an optical density of the kidney tissue - kidney T1 and kidney T2 respectively, an optical density of the pleural fluid - fluid T1 and fluid T2, and an optical density of environment air nearby the anterior abdominal wall - air T1 and air T2.
