PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve compression efficiency by using the adaptive weighting of a reference picture in a video decoder, a video encoder and a corresponding method for predicting an image block by processing the video signal data and specific reference picture index of the image block.SOLUTION: The decoder includes: a reference weighting factor device for determining a weighting factor corresponding to a specific reference picture index and a reference picture weighting factor allocator for allocating a weighting factor corresponding to the specific reference picture index. The decoding method includes: a process 614 of receiving the reference picture index corresponding to an image block; a process 616 of determining a weighting factor for each reception reference picture index; a process 618 of extracting a reference picture for each index; a process 620 of performing the motion compensation of the extracted reference picture; and a process 624 of multiplying the motion compensation reference picture by the corresponding weighting factor 622 to form a weighting motion compensation reference picture. |
