PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive composition for a polarizing plate, which is an adhesive excellent in adhesive force and suitable for bonding various protective films for a polarizing plate with a polarizer, particularly, for bonding a protective film other than TAC with a polarizer, and which has excellent production efficiency and excellent resistance to a color void.SOLUTION: The adhesive composition for a polarizing plate comprises a metal or semimetal compound (A) that can form a chelate, a photopolymerizable compound (B) having a functional group that can form a chelate with the metal or semimetal, and a photo-base generator (C); or the adhesive composition comprises a chelate compound (A-B) formed from a metal or semimetal compound (A) that can form a chelate and a photopolymerizable compound (B) having a functional group that can form a chelate with the metal or semimetal, and a photo-base generator (C).
