<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering system which has simple structure and effectively prevents lead-pull of a vehicle to provide comfortable steering feeling. <P>SOLUTION: A steering torque wave shape correcting means (32) correcting the wave shape of a steering torque τ detected from a torque sensor, corrects the wave shape of the steering torque τ to a corrected steering torque Tc having a wave shape optimal for a driving condition.
