<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a catch of a succeeding workpiece W or a defective sorting operation during the sorting operation by a sorting mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: When conveying a workpiece W determined to be defective by an inspection device 20 in the defective workpiece conveying direction by the sorting operation, and if it is detected by a workpiece detection unit 14 during the sorting operation of the workpiece W that the succeeding workpiece W advances into a holding-induction area A, the workpiece detection signal is output in a control unit 15.
