<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining center and a machining method capable of reducing a machining time by reducing effects of latency caused by executing a spindle rotation instruction for specifying a rotational speed. <P>SOLUTION: When an instruction obtained from a working program is a rotation instruction for a spindle 5A for specifying a rotational speed, a machining center starts rotation of the spindle 5A, and obtains and executes a successive instruction from the working program without waiting until the rotational speed of the spindle 5A reaches a rotational speed threshold. Next, when a cutting movement instruction is obtained from the working program, the machining center determines whether or not the rotational speed of the spindle 5A reaches the rotational speed threshold, and then starts cutting movement for moving the spindle 5A close to a workpiece. The machining center sets a value obtained by multiplying the rotational speed specified by the rotation instruction by a predetermined rate A as the rotational speed threshold, and compares the rotational speed of the spindle 5A with the rotational speed threshold for the determination. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
