PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair setting method which, unlike hair setting using alkaline thioglycolic acid, causes no risk of toxicity during application, destruction of hair due to repeated uses over a long time, decrease of hair setting effects, and environmental pollution with waste water, and a method of releasing the hair setting.SOLUTION: In a setting method according to the invention, hair is covered with a gel net obtained from an ultrahigh molecular weight poly-γ-glutamic acid that is generated by a strain separated from Bacillus natto, and calcium ions are sprayed over the hair after adjusting a shape of the hair and water-insolubilized setting is performed on the hair. When hair is to be newly set, the hair setting can be released by an ionic exchange by treating the hair with a detergent including sodium or a soap, without having to performing hair setting on the existing hair setting as conventional methods. |
