1,131,560. Diagnostic agent. C. F. BOEHRINGER & SOEHNE G.m.b.H. 29 Aug., 1967 [1 Sept., 1966], No. 39489/67. Heading B1X. In the determination of hydroperoxides, of substances which react with the liberation of hydroperoxides, of peroxidase or of peroxidate-active substances, using the reaction of hydroperoxides with a chromogen in the presence of peroxidase or peroxidate-active substances, the chromogen used has the general formula:- in which R 1 is amino or an aliphatic, araliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic radical which may be mono- or polysubstituted or a group of general formula:- R 2 is hydrogen or an aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic radical which may be mono- or polysubstituted; R 3 is hydrogen or alkyl or phenyl which may be mono- or polysubstituted; R 4 is amino or hydroxy or alkoxy; R 5 and R 6 which may be the same or different are hydrogen or amino, hydroxy, alkoxy or alkyl radicals; X is an oxygen or sulphur atom or an imino group which may be substituted by an R 1 group, n is 0 or 1, m is 0, 1 or 2, and X and R 1 or R 1 and R 2 or R 1 and R 3 can together form a ring, which may be substituted. Diagnostic agents comprise peroxidase or a peroxidate active substance and the chromogen (to determine hydroperoxide); hydrogen peroxide or a substance or substances forming hydrogen peroxide and the chromogen (to determine peroxidate-active substances); the agents may be solutions or test-papers. Examples relate to determination of hydrogen peroxide, glucose in urine, glucose in blood, glucose in unspecified solution, and blood (i.e. haemoglobin) in urine. Other determinations are mentioned. |
