Fires and explosions are prevented in containers for inflammable fluids by the provision in the container of a thermoconductive, non- inflammable metal filler composed of a netting of integrally connected thin ribbons whose widths are misaligned with the general plane of the netting imparting stiffness thereto, the netting permitting free filow and levelling of fluids within the container. The container may be an aircraft fuel tank.
