PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic body exhibiting an excellent internal quantum efficiency (IQE) formed of a first area and a second area, a production method and use method thereof, and a luminaire using it.SOLUTION: A first area includes a host material and a dopant which has first density effective for generating luminescence. A second area includes the host material and a dopant which has second density. The first area has an average grain size larger than that of the second area, in a production method of a ceramic body.
