<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nutritational composition for inflammatory diseases, which has an excellent effect of ameliorating the symptoms of inflammatory diseases including inflammatory bowel disease, can retain proteins in the body of a patient, and is useful for improving a nutritional state. <P>SOLUTION: The nutritional composition for inflammatory diseases includes a human essential amino acid composition, and does not contain any human non-essential amino acid other than arginine. The human essential amino acid is preferably composed of histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, valine, cysteine and tyrosine. The amino acid composition preferably includes arginine.
