PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a structure to be simplified.SOLUTION: A vehicle power conversion apparatus converts single-phase AC power into DC power. The power conversion apparatus comprises: a single-phase 2 level converter; a single-phase 3 level converter; and one cooler. The cooler grounds a power module incorporated with switching units constituting the single-phase 2 level converter and a power module incorporated with switching units constituting the single-phase 3 level converter. The power module incorporated with the switching units constituting the single-phase 3 level converter has a dielectric strength voltage equal to a voltage applicable to any one of two capacitors constituting the single-phase 3 level converter and being connected in series or more. The power module incorporated with the switching units constituting the single-phase 2 level converter has a dielectric strength voltage equal to a total voltage or more of the voltage applicable to any one of two capacitors constituting the single-phase 3 level converter and being connected in series and a voltage applicable to a capacitor constituting the single-phase 2 level converter.
