<p>A system for creating a water repellant coating on a windshield, comprises a water repellant surface treatment comprising a silicone-containing compound, and a water repellant wiper blade comprising a natural or synthetic or semi-synthetic rubber squeegee body and a water repellant coating comprising a hydrophobic polymeric film former and a hydrophobicity-enabling agent such as polyalkylsiloxane (modified or non-modified) silicone fluids. The polymeric film can be made from a compound selected from the group consisting of polyol resins, urethane resins, fluorine resins, epoxy resins, and silicone resins and may further include a friction reducing agent selected from the group consisting of graphite, PTFE, and molybdenum disulfide powders.</p> |
