In a method for determining an area cut with a cutting roll (2) by at least one construction machine or at least one mining machine by working a predefined area in a plurality of cutting trajectories by means of at least one machine (1), determining the length of the cutting trajectories at which a cutting operation has taken place, by evaluating the continuous machine positions, summing the previously cut part-areas taking into account the length of the cutting trajectory and the installed width of the cutting roll (2), wherein the part-area currently cut along the cutting trajectory is checked continuously or subsequently for overlapping or multiple overlapping with previously cut part-areas, and overlapping part-areas are subtracted as overlap areas from the summed, previously cut part-areas, the total summed cut part-areas minus the total established overlap areas produce the cut area. |
