PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition that gives a cured product excellent in heat resistance, toughness, coloring resistance, and dimensional stability, and in particular a resin composition having characteristics suitable for optical components.SOLUTION: A polyfunctional acid anhydride is obtained by reaction of a polyhydric alcohol (A), which is obtained by reaction of tris(2-hydroxyethyl)isocyanurate with one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of alkylene oxides, cyclic ethers, and cyclic esters, with a nucleus-hydrogenated trimellitic acid anhydride halide or a mixture of a nucleus-hydrogenated trimellitic acid anhydride halide (b-1) and a trimellitic acid anhydride halide (b-2). A thermosetting resin composition comprises the polyfunctional acid anhydride and a compound (B) containing at least one epoxy group in one molecule. |
