Guiding and/or support arrangement and method therefor

Disclosed is a guiding rail and track support system for a horizontal sliding hanging door that reduces the installation time of a timber dressing frame for the track system and allows for an improved surface finish. The guiding arrangement for guiding movement of one or more selected from a door and at least one wheel arrangement in a door assembly fitted into a framed opening in a wall, the guiding arrangement comprises a substantially vertical wall including framing members defining the framed opening, and lined on opposed sides with wallboard sheets. An elongate body member defines a guide path on which the one selected from a door and at least one wheel arrangement is guidable, wherein the guiding arrangement is installed into the framed opening by attaching the elongate body member to an underside of a lintel of the framed opening, with no additional intervening top dressing frame element. The elongate body is wider than the width of the framing members and further defines a pair of vertical surfaces, spaced apart from each other such that they are positioned substantially in plane with an exterior surface of each of the respective wallboards. The vertical surfaces either face the same direction as the exterior surface of each other respective wallboard sheet, or face an opposite direction as the exterior surface of each the respective wallboard sheet. Connector formations connect the elongate body member to a vertical support member at or towards an end of the elongate body member. The elongate body member defines a track arrangement along the guide path on which a wheel arrangement is reciprocally movable.
