PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can start, after start-up of a photoreceptor drum and a developing sleeve, developing a toner image before information on a change of the period of a development gap that is a gap between the photoreceptor drum and developing sleeve.SOLUTION: A control part 110 can detect an AC component of a developing voltage to detect information on the interval between a photoreceptor drum 1 and a developing sleeve 40 for each phase position of the photoreceptor drum 1. A DC controller F5 applies, to the developing sleeve, a developing voltage in which information on a change of the period of a development gap updated at the previous start-up is reflected on a DC voltage, so as to start image formation. The DC controller F5 subsequently detects the development gap over one rotation of the photoreceptor drum while performing image formation to update the information on a change of the period of the development gap. |
