PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft which has a large moment of inertia by a slight increase in weight, is easy to swing, and gives a satisfactory swing-through feel, and a golf club equipped with the shaft.SOLUTION: A shaft for a golf club is made of a fiber reinforced resin. When a position 100 mm apart from a distal end of the shaft is represented by P1, a position 200 mm apart is represented by P2, a position 500 mm apart is represented by P3, and a position 1000 mm apart is represented by P4, thicknesses at the positions are defined as P1:1.0 mm or less, P2:0.9 mm or less, P3:0.6 mm or less, and P4:0.6 mm or less. Each section between the positions has a thickness larger than a thickness transition obtained by connecting the thicknesses at the positions by a straight line. The shaft comprises prepregs containing carbon fibers and has a weighted part constituted by using prepregs containing high density materials that contain materials with density higher than that of the prepregs containing the carbon fibers. Weight of the shaft is 35 to 45 g. |
