PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optic device that can achieve high quality display without requiring a fine precision data signal.SOLUTION: An electro-optic device 1 comprises: a plurality of scan lines 12; a plurality of data lines 14; a display unit 100; a data line drive circuit 10; a holding capacitor 50 for holding potential of the data line 14; a drive control circuit 5 for controlling operation of the data line drive circuit 10; and a display control circuit 4 for supplying brightness information Br to the drive control circuit 5 and supplying an image signal Vid to the data line drive circuit 10. The data line drive circuit 10 comprises: a feeder line 62 to which a potential control signal is supplied: a holding capacitor 44 having one end connected to the data line 14 and the other end to which potential according to a data signal is supplied; and a transistor 43 connected between the other end of the holding capacitor 44 and the feeder line 62. The drive control circuit 5 controls potential Vref of the potential control signal on the basis of the brightness information Br. |
