PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating organic waste that can receive the organic waste without needing to sort agricultural residue including plant stems and leaves and can efficiently perform methane fermentation to recover energy.SOLUTION: A method for treating organic waste includes slurrying agricultural residue including plant stems and leaves and putting it into a methane fermentation tank 2, and generating biogas through fermentation in the methane fermentation tank 2 to recover energy. The agricultural residue is ground, rubbed and crushed to obtain a ground-rubbed material in a state of the epidermis of the stems and leaves being stripped and even the contents inside the epidermis being crushed, and the ground-rubbed material is introduced into the methane fermentation tank 2. It is preferable to introduce the ground-rubbed material into the methane fermentation tank 2 without passing through a solubilization tank, and it is also preferable to pump-transfer the ground-rubbed material into the methane fermentation tank 2. |
