A high-molecular compound comprising repeating units represented by formula (1) and repeating units represented by formula (2) exhibits high absorbance in a long-wavelength region and is therefore useful for an organic photoelectric conversion element. In formula (1), R is a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, optionally fluorine-substituted alkyl, optionally fluorine -substituted alkoxy, optionally substituted aryl, optionally substituted heteroaryl, or a group represented by formula (3) [wherein m1 is an integer of 0 to 6, m2 is an integer of 0 to 6, R' is optionally fluorine-substituted alkyl, optionally substituted aryl, or optionally substituted heteroaryl, and a hydrogen atom in the (CH2)m1 or (CH2)m2 moiety may be replaced by a fluorine atom]; and the four R groups may be the same or different from each other.
