<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information medium and a game machine providing a novel added value, sustaining a player's interest in a game for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: An information section of this game medium is constituted into a specific shape having a light transmission property and includes, in its inside, game-machine-readable information patterns indicating the content of information giving a different value from a game value. This constitution allows a game machine to read the information patterns, so that the game machine reading the information patterns can provide the player with a novel value in compliance with the information indicated by the information pattern. Consequently, this information medium can sustain the player's interest in the game for a long period of time.
