Provided is an application method which is to apply a liquid photocurable resin to a surface of a panel. A step having the same height as the surface is formed on the edge of the surface of the panel. The application method comprises: a moving step of moving one side of an application head or the panel so that the application head which has a slit-shaped nozzle capable of discharging a photocurable resin can be relatively moved on the surface of the panel; and an applying step of discharging the photocurable resin onto the surface of the panel from the nozzle during the moving step. In the applying step, the film thickness of the photocurable resin can be controlled with respect to the step having the same height as the surface of the panel, so as not to generate the step having the same height as the surface on a liquid film surface of the photocurable resin.
