[Also in Division C1] In a process for manufacturing an ornamental article of thermoplastics material having a metal lattice frame, a gob of material C is fed to a blank mould 1 and pressed out by a plunger 3 to form a hollow blank having a screw neck 11 held in a neck ring mould 5, the blank is then transferred to a finishing mould 12 by the neck ring mould, in which is located a metal lattice frame 9 conforming to the shape of the mould but spaced from its walls a constant distance a (Fig. 3b), and the blank is blown out to its final shape, the material completely covering the inner side of the frame 9 and also being forced through apertures 23-25 in the frame 9 to form regularly arranged protuberances 28-30. |
