A multicontact remanent reed relay has reed contact units 1, 2 which are longer than its coil 3 and also has polepieces 7, 8 which support its remanent core 6 and embrace the ends of the contact units 1, 2. Polepiece projections 13 and coil terminals 4, 5 may be secured to a printed circuit board (not shown). The core is magnetized to operate the contacts when the coil is energized by a D.C. pulse and is demagnetized to permit the contacts to open when the coil is energized by a decreasing series of damped current oscillations. |
