PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide Newcastle disease virus (NDV) vaccines or compositions which can protect animals (particularly avian) from diseases.SOLUTION: The invention includes engineered Newcastle disease virus (NDV) vaccines or compositions. The invention also includes recombinant vectors encoding and expressing avian pathogenic antigens, more specifically avian influenza proteins, epitopes or immunogens. The invention provides compositions in which the above mentioned engineered NDV vector comprises a polynucleotide having at least 90% sequence identity to a polynucleotide having the sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 or a polynucleotide complementary to a polynucleotide having at least 90% sequence identity to the polynucleotide having the sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1.
