PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element which has a structure in which a fluorescent emission layer and a phosphorescent emission layer are laminated and exhibits favorable luminous efficiency.SOLUTION: A light emitting element has an EL layer between a pair of electrodes. The EL layer has a luminescent layer and the luminescent layer has at least a laminated structure in which a first luminescent layer presenting fluorescent emission interfaces a second luminescent layer presenting phosphorescent emission. The second luminescent layer includes a plurality of layers which form at least an excited complex. The light emitting element has a laminated structure in which a layer which exhibits a luminescence peak of a wavelength longer than that of each luminescence peak obtained from two layers interfaces the layers forming the excited complex between the two layers.
