The present invention relates to an operating method of a modular complex distributed power system capable of supplying power to a power system by determining the operation and output of a diesel generator and an energy storage system with an operating condition set by a time series power demand, a photovoltaic generation output, and a charging state of the energy storage system. In the operating method of the modular complex distributed power system according to the present invention which comprises: a distributed power source which is made of the diesel generator, a photovoltaic generator, and the energy storage system; a power management system (PMS) to control the operation of the distributed power source according to a control signal; and an energy management system (EMS) to transmit the control signal to the PMS, the operating method of the modular complex distributed power system according to the present invention to solve the subject above comprises: a system data input step of inputting data for the power system of a distributed power system; a time series pattern detection step of detecting the time series power demand and a photovoltaic generation output pattern in the power system of the distributed power system; an operating mode determination step of determining an operating mode based on the detected time series pattern; an operating control step of controlling the operation of the distributed power source according to the determined operating mode and operating the distributed power source; and an operating result output step of outputting the operating state and power demand of the distributed power source according to the control.
