PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor intermediate body which is prevented in the breakage of a sensor element when arranging a filling member for fixing the sensor element into a main constituent metal fitting in the main constituent metal fitting, and a manufacturing method of a sensor.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a sensor intermediate body comprises: a process of arranging a cylindrical holder 30 and a cylindrical green compact 41x in a cylindrical main constituent metal fitting 11, and preparing a preparation body in which a metal pin 202 is inserted into a first insertion hole 32 formed at the holder and a second insertion hole 42 formed at the green compact; a preparatory compression process of forming a filling member intermediate body 41y having a shape which allows the insertion and withdrawal of the metal pin to/from the second penetration hole while being compressed to the inside of the main constituent metal fitting by compressing the green compact; a pin withdrawal process of withdrawing the metal pin from the first penetration hole and the second penetration hole; an insertion process of inserting a sensor element 21 into the first penetration hole and the second penetration hole; and a main compression process of compressing the filling member intermediate body, and forming a filling member which fixes the sensor element into the main constituent metal fitting. |
