PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator group managing device and an elevator group managing method which reduce unnecessary power consumption without deteriorating a service to users as much as possible during the off-peak time, in a building where a plurality of elevators are installed.SOLUTION: An elevator group managing device includes an average un-responding time calculating unit, an operation number controlling unit, and an operation controlling unit. The average un-responding time calculating unit calculates the average un-response time for the landing hall calling generated during a predetermined time period, based on the operating conditions of a plurality of elevators. The operation number controlling unit, when the average un-response time calculated falls below a predetermined operating limit determination threshold, limits the operation number of a plurality of elevators, while ensuring at least one elevator operation. The operation controlling unit, after the operation number of elevators decreases to one, by limiting the number of operating elevators, when the average un-response time falls below the operational limit determination threshold, switches the running speed of the operating elevator concerned to low. |
