PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet type motor capable of reducing cogging torque while attaining reduction of cost of manufacture.SOLUTION: A line connecting a rotation center Ca of a rotor core 10 and a circumferential center of a magnetic pole 9 between a pair of permanent magnets 12 and 12 is defined as a d-axis and an axis which extends between magnetic poles adjacent circumferentially and being orthogonal to the d-axis at an electric angle is defined as a q-axis. An outer peripheral shape of the rotor core includes an arcuate outer peripheral surface of which the outer diameter dimension on the d-axis is maximum and the outer diameter dimension on the q-axis is minimum. When a relation between a radius R of the rotor core on the d-axis and an embedding depth Lu from the outer peripheral surface of the rotor core on the d-axis to an inner peripheral side apex of the pair of permanent magnets forming the magnetic pole is represented as Lu/R, it is set within a range of 0.16≤Lu/R≤0.205. |
