<p>A first solenoid switch that opens and closes a main contact of a motor, and a second solenoid switch that passes current to the motor via a resistor, and includes a contact for shorting the resistor, are separate bodies, and are positioned in parallel in the circumferential direction of the motor. In such a configuration, the two different solenoid switches are positioned relative to the central axis of the motor, and thus a constraint on large dimensions arises in ease of installation in engine. This engine starting device, which does not impair ease of installation in an engine, is provided by positioning the first solenoid switch, which includes a resistor, and the second solenoid switch in series in the axial direction in such a manner as to be configured integrally and in a single housing.</p> |
