摘要 <p>A machining insert as in one embodiment of the present invention is provided with a through-hole that extends so that the through hole passes through first and second end surfaces that are on opposite sides from one another. A plurality of cutting blades are disposed on a ridgeline area that intersects the first end surface and a peripheral side surface so that the cutting blades are rotationally symmetrical in relation to the center axis of the through-hole. A plurality of segmented surface areas are disposed on the second end surface so that the segmented surface areas are rotationally symmetrical in relation to the center axis second end surface. Each segmented surface area is correlated to one cutting blade and is formed so as to have a fixed slant in relation to a flat plane that is established so as to be perpendicular to the central axis. When the machining insert is mounted to the insert mounting seat with a screw, the segmented surface areas that are correlated to the usable cutting blades will come into contact with the contact surface of the insert mounting seat, and the axis of the insert mounting seat screw hole and the central axis of the through-hole will become parallel.</p>
