PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road lighting device capable of performing uniformized lighting to a desired road surface with high stability even around the road where there are lots of powder dust, dust, nitrogen oxide, and fine particles, and capable of achieving reduction in labor and cost required for maintenance work and efficiency improvement in lighting of the road surface.SOLUTION: In a road lighting device 1: light source units 6a, 6b are installed in which light distribution control lenses 64a, 64b are provided for deflecting luminous flux of light emitting diodes 63a, 63b substantially downward as a whole, on a light projection side of the light emitting diodes 63a, 63b; the light distribution control lenses 64a, 64b perform light distribution control on irradiation light of the light emitting diodes 63a, 63b so that luminous flux density is higher on the upper side than on the lower side; and the light source units 6a, 6b irradiate a road surface irradiation region with light. The light distribution control lenses 64a, 64b are formed in such a manner that they are substantially flat projection chevron-shape having smooth curved surfaces which protrude on the light projection side, and a curvature of curved surfaces 642a, 642b on the upper side than tips 641a, 641b is smaller than a curvature of curved surfaces 643a, 643b on the lower side. |
