PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in which a function of a tissue slice can be maintained for a long time under a culture condition, and a tissue slice culture device.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of expressing and maintaining a function of a tissue slice on which the function of an organ can be expressed and maintained. The method has a process of housing the tissue slice in a culture chamber and circulating culture solution in a flow channel contacting the culture chamber via a separating material, in which the separating material is a porous film or a slit part constituted of a plurality of wall materials arranged with a gap from each other, and the culture chamber is provided in a region of 400 μm or less from the separating material.
