Disclosed is a method for treating or preventing a metabolic disorder in a nonhuman subject, the method comprising administering to the non-human subject a bacterial endotoxin and a lipoteichoic acid, separately, simultaneously or sequentially, with the proviso that when the endotoxin is LPS, the metabolic disorder is not Laminitis.
