PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for thickening which contains a cationic polygalactomannan using a crosslinker without using boron compounds having a harmful risk, and which is used for thickening a personal or household care composition.SOLUTION: The invention provides a thickening composition which contains a cationic polygalactomannan treated and crosslinked with glyoxal, wherein the cationic polygalactomannan contains the cationic polygalactomannan treated with the glyoxal having a degree of substitution of the cationic substituent whose minimum is 0.05 and maximum is 1.0, the cationic polygalactomannan has a degree of substitution of the cationic substituent of 0.05-1.0, the composition being used for thickening a personal or household care composition. Preferably the personal care composition is selected from a cleansing composition, conditioner and hair styling product. |
