<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sinter-forged material, which prevents a decrease of fatigue strength. <P>SOLUTION: A connecting rod 1 (sinter-forged member) is formed by: compressing mixed powder 40 to form a powder compact 90; sintering the compact 90; and then forging the compact 90. The compact 90 includes: a web 91 (base); and ribs 92L, 92L, 92R, and 92R (protrusions) which protrude from the web 91 along the vertical direction or the direction to which the powder 40 is compressed.
