PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect breakage and deformation of an optical fiber to prevent scanning from being continued with a disturbed scanning locus.SOLUTION: There is provided an optical fiber scanner 6 including an optical fiber 8 that guides light emitted from a light source 5, an actuator 12 that is fixed at a midway position in the longitudinal axis direction of the optical fiber 8 to displace the tip 8a of the optical fiber 8 by bending vibration, and a conductive detection line member 14 that extends in a bonded state over a predetermined range in the longitudinal axis direction of the outer peripheral surface of the optical fiber 8 between at least the actuator 12 and the tip 8a of the optical fiber 8.
