<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device for allowing the setting of the sizes of release members and the magnitude of absorbable energy, independently of a holding force in tilting or telescopic state and the operating force of an operation lever, without increasing the number of components and setting a space for absorbing the energy. <P>SOLUTION: When an excessive collision load is applied to an upper jacket 34a along a column axial direction in the state of fastening a clamping bolt 20, the connection of upper jackets 4a, 34a to the release members 5, 35 with connection means 9 is released, and energy absorbing structures 7, 37 engaging with the upper jackets 4a, 34a are deformed to absorb energy while the upper jackets 4a, 34a are moved in the column axial direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
