PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve drivability or improve the durability of a fuel cell by controlling a charge to a secondary battery so as to be compatible with a state of the fuel cell such as degradation and temperature.SOLUTION: At least one of the following is executed: (i) when the temperature of a secondary battery is lower than a predetermined lower-limit temperature, an oxidation gas flow rate is lowered than when higher, and output from a fuel cell is reduced for requested output from a fuel cell system and output from the secondary battery is increased; and (ii) when the temperature of the fuel cell is lower than a predetermined lower-limit temperature, the oxidation gas flow rate is lowered, while taking care not to cause a voltage of the fuel cell to rise to or above a predetermined high potential avoidance voltage, so as to cause a thermal loss to occur in a low-current flow area of the current-voltage characteristic of the fuel cell in which said voltage is higher or equal to the predetermined high potential avoidance voltage in a state before the oxidation gas flow rate is lowered, and the temperature of the fuel cell is raised using thermal energy generated by thermal loss. |
