Directions are provided over a network to a mobile terminal. Destination entries are stored in a memory. A server receives a voice-based request for directions to a target destination from the mobile terminal. A current location of the mobile terminal is determined. A processor compares the destination entries with the target destination to determine a matching entry. Directional instructions to the matching entry are obtained for the target destination based on the current location of the mobile terminal. The obtained directional instructions are transmitted to the mobile terminal for display on the mobile terminal.

1. A method of providing directions over a network to a mobile terminal, comprising:
storing, in a memory, a plurality of destination entries; receiving, at a server, a voice-based request for directions to a target destination from the mobile terminal; determining a current location of the mobile terminal; comparing, by a processor, the plurality of destination entries with the target destination to determine a matching entry; obtaining directional instructions to the matching entry for the target destination based on the current location of the mobile terminal; and transmitting, to the mobile terminal, the obtained directional instructions for display on the mobile terminal.
