The technical solution relates to automobile tires having a wear indicator which is applied to a tire and which allows for visually determining the degree of wear thereof. The technical solution consists in a "slick"-type racing tire, onto the surface of which a colored pigment is applied in the form of lines (of any geometric shape), said pigment acting as a wear indicator. The wear indicator is applied in layers, each layer differing in color from the others depending on the depth of tire wear. Racing tires with a wear indicator are intended for use in automobile races, and particularly in conjunction with open-wheel race cars (in go-carting and "Formula"-class races); the indicator is located in the driver's field of vision, thus allowing for visually assessing, while in motion, the degree of tire wear. |
