Provided is a power supply device for vehicles that is capable of appropriately performing idling-stop control in accordance with the degree of degradation of a capacitor. This power supply device (1) for a vehicle comprises: an auxiliary machine battery (4); an auxiliary machine (2) and a DC/DC converter (6) that are connected in parallel to the auxiliary machine battery (4); a capacitor (5) that is connected to the auxiliary machine battery (4) and the auxiliary machine (2) via the DC/DC converter (6); and a starter (7) connected to the capacitor (5). The DC/DC converter (6) includes a capacitance measurement means that measures the capacitance of the capacitor (5). In accordance with the capacitance of the capacitor (5), the power supply device (1) changes a reference value for a control related to the idling-stoppage of an internal combustion engine which is started by employing the starter (7).
