Field sequential color display comprising: a liquid crystal display panel (410), which comprises a color filter (4122) for a first color subpixel, a color filter (4123) for a second color subpixel, and a color filter (4124) for a third subpixel, where a frame cycle is divided into a first subframe period (T1) and a second subframe period (T2); a backlight module (420), used for providing a backlight source to the liquid crystal display panel (410), where the backlight source comprises a red (R) backlight, a blue (B) backlight, and a green (G) backlight. During a first backlight period in the first subframe period (T1), the backlight module (420) provides any two color backlights among the three color backlights; during a second backlight period in the second subframe period (T2), the backlight module (420) provides the other color backlight beside the any two color backlights among the three color backlights. Also disclosed is a color control method for the field sequential color display. |
