1,204,523. Demagnetizing permanent magnet armatures. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT and SOC. INDUSTRIELLE ET COMMERCIALE DES AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT. 3 Oct., 1967 [9 Nov., 1966], No. 45052/67. Heading H1P. The permanent magnet armature 9 for a tachometric alternator is partially demagnetized by feeding to the stator windings 8 a source of alternating current of increasing intensity, the armature being driven at such a constant speed by motor 10 that the frequency of the alternator current is different from the source of A.C. The intensity of the source of A.C. from 3 is varied using a motorized autotransformer 4 or a saturable inductance. Periodically the output voltage of the alternator is measured automatically by device 11 which switches contact 6 to a voltage meter 12 and controls the motion of autotransformer 4. A number of alternators having identical voltage outputs may be made in this way. If the alternator is used for controlling gear changes in an automobile, the stator poles are positioned to correspond to the maximum engine load and the speed of motor 10 corresponds to that selected for a gear change.
|
