LOCATING MOBILE USERS IN EMERGENCY

A technique for locating a user of a mobile device (UE2) in an emergency situation, using for example trilateration from three wireless base stations (BS1, BS2, BS3). The innovation lies in the use of base stations from other networks in the area and/or in configuring other handheld devices in the area as temporary base stations, which can then be used to locate mobile users more accurately to deliver early warning messages.
