A purpose of the present invention is to provide an exothermic batch reactor capable of effectively regulating a temperature inside an exothermic reaction chamber which carries out an exothermic polymerization reaction. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the exothermic batch reactor comprises: a reaction chamber introducing reactants and then releasing out products produced by a polymerization reaction; and a jacket provided on an inner surface of the reaction chamber so as to regulate the internal temperature of the reaction chamber by circulating cooling water. The jacket further includes: a wall protruding from the inner surface of the reaction chamber toward the inside of the reaction chamber, having a pitch along the height of the reaction chamber, and connected in a helical form along the inner surface of the reaction chamber; and a jacket member forming a helical passage for cooling water by connecting a neighboring end portion of the wall so as to be exposed to the inside of the reaction chamber.
